So I made these cookies, kind of by mistake. I misread the title of the recipe, I thought it was chocolate chip cookies, but it said chocolate cookies. I ended up adding chocolate chips since this is what I wanted. These cookies were okay, not my favorite, but I felt like they were missing something. I decided that the something was frosting. I sandwiched the cookies with some chocolate buttercream icing and I think this did the trick. Viola, a whoopie pie has been created.

Rosemary White Bread
As you all know I have trouble working with yeast. The more I try, the better I am getting (I know wild concept). I made Rosemary White Bread, without tooting my own horn it was pretty good. It was moist with a crunchy outside and the Rosemary gave it a great woody flavor. Woody flavor and bread may not sound delicious but it is very good. I hope next time you can enjoy some with me.
Mitzi's Birthday!!
So last weekend was my good friend, Mitzi's birthday. I made her cake of choice Choco, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip after testing the recipe with Joe's co-workers. They seemed to really enjoy them. If I get a pic, I will post it later. I think for my first official cake from scratch the whole think both looked and tasted very good. I also made her some Rosemary cookies that of course were delicious.

Hello Again (love that movie)
It's been a while since my last post. There have been a lot of different things happening around here. I had a temporary job for about a month, that is now over and I can start my blog again.
Of course we had the holidays.
Thanksgiving - I made an upside down cranberry spice cake. I actually made two, the first one Joe and I ate even though it was for Thanksgiving. I also made a GOOD pecan pie, everyone seemed to enjoy this time.
Christmas - I made peanut brittle, rosemary cookies, candied cranberries, meringue cookies, and
spiced nuts. Everyone seemed to enjoy everything.
New Year's Eve - the peanut brittle was such a hit I made more for the holiday.
It is a new year now with more to strive towards. I hope you and yours are well as we march into 2010.

Cranberry - Pear Crumble
I love, love, love cranberries. This is a cranberry-pear crumble.
As simple as this dish is it is much more delicious than you would think it should be. Cut some pear and whole cranberries in a bowl and mix with lemon juice and sugar. Make a crumble and add on top. I added some homemade whip cream to top it off.
